Goals and Objectives

Goals

To provide a general overview and understanding of the advances in the care of people with hemophilia, including:

  • A historical perspective of the early treatments of hemophilia
  • Current practices for treatment of hemophilia
  • The hope of continued advances in the care of people with hemophilia

Objectives

  1. Review the diagnosis and treatment advances for the care of people with hemophilia from the past to the future
  2. Discuss the expansion of treatment options that continue to improve the life expectancy and the quality of life for people with hemophilia
  3. Describe the advantages of supportive therapy and comprehensive care for people with hemophilia
  4. Explain how a multidisciplinary approach to research and the care of people with bleeding disorders has improved

Target Audience

This activity is directed to clinicians, particularly physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, specializing in hemophilia. Consumers are welcome.
